Just finished up the last run of my toons today. If the mount does not drop for me again this time around, there will be NO attempts next year.
I am not a mount fiend, but I do want this one, and it has obviously become a personal GRUDGE against RNG. I will be trying with 5 level 90 toons this year. Obviously I haven't 12+ toons to run with this year, there simply was not enough time between the launch and this years Hallow's End to level that many toons. I quit playing shortly after Hallow's End last year, only to return for the expansion, and my last attempt at getting the mount. I am now up to 423+ attempts, remember I am not counting the first year, without the mount dropping. The mount never dropped for me last year either. Last year in 2011, I had 12 toons at lvl 85, and again ran every one through every day (at least, obviously I was doing extra runs for rings on each toon every year as well) I had done 255+ (I am guessing around 325 total) runs without the mount dropping. I ran all 11 every day except for one that I can remember, due to being out of town.ġ1 toons x 13 days = 143 attempts with no mount drop.īy now, I was really pissed. The next year, 2010, I had gotten another account, and by the time Hallow's End came around, I had 11 toons qualified to run the event. That math is easy: 8 toons x 14 days = 112 attempts with no mount. I had 8 toons that qualified to run the event that year, and ran it daily with each one, every single day, and never got the mount. That brings us to the next year, 2009, when the mount started being in the personal loot bag after the fight. The second was won by a random mage, who then admitted to already having the mount, but rolled anyway. The first was won by a guild member who was with me, who it is important to note, quit WoW only a week or so later, never to return. I ran it that year a lot, and while I surely cannot remember the number of times, I do remember only seeing the mount drop twice. At that time, it was a drop, with a roll required. So, if you are a dummy like me, be sure to check and re-check your bags! And don't sell it by accident also! (They really should change the Icon to make it look more like a Horse, and not a Belt before you use it)Ĭomment by 1047176This mount was introduced in 2008. I was in shock and tried to find out how long it had been there! With no luck. As I was selling stuff, I came across the Headless Horseman's Reins, it had been sitting there quite happily all along. I then decided to clear out my trash to a vendor so I can make room for it, for tomorrows attempt. I had another disappointing day of not finding the mount via looting the pumpkin. things in my bag and never seem to have enough bag slots free. Please be careful when you loot the Pumpkin! I'm the type of person who tends to keep a lot of err. It still has a RANDOM low drop rate of only 0.01% - 0.04% (Speculation from previous years has changed.) You have to be lvl 84 or Higher to queue for this event. Is only looted from Loot-Filled Pumpkin once a day through the Dungeon Finder tool. Is only obtainable during the once a year world event Hallow's End - Hallow's End. This mount scales to your current Riding skill, as do all mounts as of Cataclysm (Ground and Flying) You do gain a 'Feat of Strength Achievement' from obtaining this mount.
Stay strong, be diligent, you will likely be rewarded.Ĭomment by Lolia Facts about the mount as of Patch 4.3 If you have several toons, the brute force method I have employed seems to work as long as you use all summons everyday. I was lucky in that of my 5 toons farming for this, one of my top two choices actually got the mount. I will likely save my summons for my guild, or be in party with my wife to roll on and give her the mount if I win.įor those hoping to get this on a particular toon, I wish you the best of luck. I will likely keep summoning each day, as statistically I should see one more mount before the end of the event. Statistically I should have seen 5 mounts drop, but I only saw three, but obviously I was unlucky in droprate, but lucky enough to offset that with a lucky roll. Monday 25 Summons: 1 mount dropped, my Paladin wins with a Need roll of 94 HOORAY!Ī total of ~ 540 summons where required for me to acquire this mount. Saturday: 25 Summons (leveled my mage to 75) Thursday: 20 Summons: 2 mounts dropped, rolled 2nd on each. In that time I saw ZERO Mounts (where statistically I should have seen ~2) In 2008, I ran HH everyday with three 70’s for an approximate number of summons (some ninja logs, some with extra summons) at 3 x 65 = 195. Comment by DeathturtleOk, thought I would throw in my experiences in trying for this mount.
